Goal #1 – Reading for Literature
By the end of grade 10, read and comprehend literature, including stories, dramas, and poems, at the high end of the grades 9-10 text complexity band independently and proficiently with focus on the following areas:

Ø Integration of Knowledge and Ideas
Goal #2 – Reading for Information
By the end of grade 10, read and comprehend literary nonfiction in the grades 9-10 text complexity band proficiently, with scaffolding as needed at the high end of the range with focus on the following areas:
Ø Key Ideas and Details
Ø Craft and Structure
Ø Integration of Knowledge and Ideas
Goal #3 – Writing
By the end of grade 10, write routinely over extended time frames (time for research, reflection, and revision) and shorter time frames (a single sitting or a day or two) for a range of tasks, purposes, and audiences with focus on the following areas:

Ø Production of Distribution of Writing
Ø Research to Build and Present Knowledge
Goal #4 – Speaking and Listening
